Daily Prayer for September 5th, 2021

Good afternoon, God—thank you!😊

In the bliss of the Trinity, you are pleased to make yourself an object of creaturely knowledge and love through Holy Scriptures. Systematic theology is wisdom about you and all things concerning you—an order to love—love/wisdom existing in you: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—triune Godhead. You are pleased to make your children happy by making us friends in the knowledge of yourself. Your Holy Scripture is the supreme source for the “systematic” study of theology. As a discipline devoted to your word, with you as primary author, I seek to discern the unity, harmony, and beauty of biblical teaching through you, understanding the relationship between “salvation” and “good works.” God saving. You are amazing! Thank you, Father! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Matthew 11:27

27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

1 Corinthians 2:10-11

10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

John 10:14-15

14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.

1 Corinthians 2:1

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a]

John 15:15

15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

2 Timothy 3:16

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Titus 1:2

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,

1 Corinthians 15:3

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Ephesians 2:8-10

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
