Daily Prayer for January 2nd, 2021
Good morning, God—thank you! 😊
Please, help me not to look back but keep looking ahead. I am not without sin or perfect, and although I suffer now, I am being made spotless before you, Lord. My life is a work in progress and will be perfect in Heaven. A Christ-like life is not a moment to achieve; it is a goal pursued with guidance from you. I desire to be more like you; God, wash me as white as snow!! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
25 Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Straining Toward the Goal
12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
