Daily Prayer for January 1st, 2021
HaPpy New Year, God—thank you! 😊
Today is a brand new day, new year, new beginnings. In everything I do, let me do for you. Think of things from above, Lord—things of excellence. Whatever is pure and lovely, let me think about these things. Your two greatest commands are to love you with our whole hearts and love others as ourselves so, I base my life on that as I wait for you in faith; therefore, I will not grow weary. Thank you, Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Born Again to a Living Hope
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
