Daily Prayer for September 11th, 2020

Good Friday morning, God—thank you!! 🙂

I remember those.

As I continue to run, let me run with perseverance; this race marked out for me at a steady pace with encouragement through your word. You promised me a future and a hope. Please give me strength and determination to discipline my body and keep it under control. Let me not run aimlessly, so that in the end, I can say that I fought the good fight of faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ESV

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Romans 15:4 ESV

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Philippians 4:13 ESV

13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

2 Timothy 4:7 ESV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
