Daily Prayer for August 20th, 2020

Good Friday morning—thank you! 🙂

Please help me to be kind to everyone, forgiving them, just as Christ forgave me. You/Jesus commanded us to love one another. By this, all people will know that I am your disciple, showing “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.” That’s not asking much. Thank you, Father! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Philippians 2:4 ESV

Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.

Ephesians 4:32 ESV

32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

John 13:34-35 ESV

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”

1 John 3:17-18 ESV

17 But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Galatians 5:22-26 ESV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
