Daily Prayer for August 6th, 2020
Good morning, God—thank you for another day! 🙂
When I fell to my knees and gave myself to you, life has never been better. Although I walk through darkness and sail raging seas, nothing shall consume me. I will not be overwhelmed. I put my trust in you. And when I do, I feel joy and hope, love, and comfort, a peace like never before. Life is better with Jesus! Like you, I long for everyone to know you and spend eternity in heaven, where there’s no sadness or weeping, sorrow, or pain, where they’ll get to see their loved ones again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
10 And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
For God So Loved the World
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
