Daily Prayer for July 31st, 2020

Good morning, God—thank you! 🙂

You hold a victory over sin and death. Thank you for redemption, for the freedom and hope you bring. Your word says to stand my ground, and that’s what I will do in the power of your name. My adversary has no control over me. I use the Sword of the Spirit as a weapon against his schemes. You are with me, shielding, protecting, strengthening, and exposing the deeds of darkness. Give me wisdom and discernment to recognize the enemy’s plans in my life, and stand firm against his work. Pray always, stay alert—rise up! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy;
when I fall, I shall rise;
when I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be a light to me.

Psalm 46:5 ESV

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.

Shake yourself from the dust and arise;
be seated, O Jerusalem;
loose the bonds from your neck,
O captive daughter of Zion.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song, I give thanks to him.

Psalm 20:8 ESV

They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.

Isaiah 60:1-3 ESV

The Future Glory of Israel

60 Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
