Daily Prayer for June 9th, 2020
Good morning, God—thank you! 🙂
Good sense overlooks fault. Therefore, let me not assume or pay attention to what people think or say. Leave out of consideration unkindness. Love should take no offense when I know who I am in Christ. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
11 Good sense makes one slow to anger,
and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Hearing and Doing the Word
19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
16 So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.
19 A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city,
and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.
23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
3 Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, 4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
