Daily Prayer for May 23rd, 2020

Good morning, God of all grace—thank you!

Because I believe right, you fill me with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. He bore my/our sins in his body on a tree. “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” Thankfully, I do not have a righteousness of my own that comes from the law. That sort of believing is deadly. I am justified by faith, have peace with you through Jesus, and called to your eternal glory. Hallelujah!! Amen.

Romans 10:4 ESV

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

1 Peter 5:10 ESV

10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Philippians 3:9 ESV

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—

Romans 5:1-5 ESV

Peace with God Through Faith

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

1 Peter 5:10 ESV

10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
