Daily Prayer for May 7th, 2020
Good morning, God—thank you! 🙂
You owe me nothing, yet you give me everything, Father, I humble myself before you and lay all of my troubles at the foot of the cross. When I come to you empty-handed, you help me to bear affliction and nourish my love for others. Please release me from the tyranny of self. The more I see in me, the less I see in you. I am your artistry, created in Christ Jesus, that gets choked by weeds of pride but thrives in the soil of a humble heart. Let my focus be on him so that he/you can work in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
