Daily Prayer for April 18th, 2020

Good morning, God—thank you! 🙂

Please, help me to always show kindly awareness and regard for others, especially during a time like this. Just because I have faith, doesn’t mean I should wallow in self-appeasement by throwing parties with neighbors, or casually swarm markets, or stroll around in public parks and beaches. Having faith is terrific, but admirable is not putting others at risk because I trust you. Instead, I should act responsibly with social distancing to help slow the spread of the virus and minimize the fatal and damaging effects of the pandemic, not only for the sake of my loved ones and me but for us all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:24 English Standard Version (ESV)

24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.

1 John 3:16 English Standard Version (ESV)

16 By this, we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Titus 3:2 English Standard Version (ESV)

to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Philippians 2:3-4 English Standard Version (ESV)

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Proverbs 22:11 English Standard Version (ESV)

11 He who loves purity of heart,
and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.
