Daily Prayer for April 12th, 2020

HaPpy Easter, God—thank you! 🙂

Jesus/you, who you manifested in human form—in your plan, was crucified and died a bodily death. The day was full of unfathomable pain and suffering, yet considered ethical (Good Friday), because he died on the cross as the ultimate act to forgive humanity of its sin and open the gates of heaven. And then three days later, after his burial following his crucifixion, amazing you, brought him back to life to bring hope! A living hope of eternal life that you grant to all who believe in him. Hallelujah!!! Thank you, Father, thank you, Jesus, thank you, Holy Spirit, who lives and dwells in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 11:17-44 English Standard Version (ESV)

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

17 Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two mile off, 19 and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. 20 So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

1 Peter 1:3 English Standard Version (ESV)

Born Again to a Living Hope

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Thessalonians 4:14 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

Romans 8:11 English Standard Version (ESV)

11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Corinthians 6:14 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.
