Daily Prayer for February 29th, 2020

Good morning, God—thank you! 🙂

Your son was tortured before he died on the cross for the forgiveness of all sins. He provided humankind with a way of redemption and brought iniquity for we who believe to an end. Before breathing his last breath, he said, “it is finished!” I trust him, Father. Therefore, I no longer try to earn my way to heaven, which would negate why Jesus suffered at Calvary. He appeared once for all, to put away sin. I have been made righteous by you through his blood and gifted eternal life. Now, I want to live right for you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

24 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. 25 Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, 26 for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

1 Peter 3:18 English Standard Version (ESV)

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
