Daily Prayer for February 18th, 2018
Good morning, God!
Thank you for this warm sunny Sunday. 🙂
Thank you for the moon and the stars and the sun, which you created for signs, and seasons. Thank you, for days and years; for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth. You divide the day from the night. I bow down to you, Creator of heaven and earth. Let us all—even the moon, the stars, and all your heavenly hosts praise your name on high! Amen.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
17 Do not sacrifice to the Lord your God an ox or a sheep that has any defect or flaw in it, for that would be detestable to him.
2 If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant, 3 and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky, 4 and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly.
2 Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
3 Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
4 Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies.
