Daily Prayer for October 28th, 2020

Good Wednesday morning, God—thank you!

Hide me from the circle of betrayers that conspires against me, from the trouble makers who have their tongues like a sword, and shots for their arrows bitter words and lies about me. Like a knife, they cut without remorse or warning. Please, Holy Spirit, let no evil intent come from my heart—or corrupt talk flow from my tongue, purposely. Allow me to pray for the ones who refuse to love everyone—those who are lost. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

I will not endure.

29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

23 Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue
keeps himself out of trouble.

Matthew 12:36 ESV

and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.

16 You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.
