Daily Prayer for October 10th, 2020
Good Saturday morning, God—thank you! 😊
Indeed, “faith without works is dead.” Not working on trying to keep the commands you gave to Moses to earn my/our way to Heaven, but works of love. ❤ —Loving you with all my heart and loving others as myself while trusting that I am free because Jesus’ died on the cross for my sins. Whatever I do, I want to do for you. Thank, you Father! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
