Daily Prayer for September 15th, 2020
Good morning, Father—thank you for another stormy day!
Holy Spirit, help me not to sin. But if I do, I know I have an advocate with me, Jesus Christ, the righteous one. He paid for my sins. Not just for mine but the whole world. Let me love everyone, no exceptions, not take vengeance or bear a grudge against anyone—love my neighbor as myself. Continually put in to practice, your love. The kind that you suffered for me/us. It’s time. ❤ Amen.
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
