Daily Prayer for December 11th, 2019

Good morning, God—thank You! 🙂

Holy Spirit, help me never to speak evil of anyone, avoid quarreling, and exude kindness to everyone. I am not perfect; therefore, it is not my right to pass judgment. Sweet Jesus washed me/us clean according to His mercy. By His grace, I am now heir according to the hope of eternal life. Thank You, Father! Let me love the way He/You love me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

James 3:2 English Standard Version (ESV)

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

Exodus 23:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

23 “You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.

Titus 3:2-9 English Standard Version (ESV)

to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

Ephesians 4 English Standard Version (ESV)

Unity in the Body of Christ

I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Proverbs 26:20 English Standard Version (ESV)

20 For lack of wood the fire goes out,
and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.
