Daily Prayer for May 17th, 2019

Good Friday morning, God—thank You! 🙂

Holy Spirit, as I slather the world with love, help me always to be true, never misleading, keeping peace among my brothers. Let me continue in what I’ve learned from Your word, which makes me wise for salvation through faith in Christ. In His precious name. Amen.

Proverbs 6:16-19 English Standard Version (ESV)

16 There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 English Standard Version (ESV)

The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
10 “I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.”

2 Timothy 3:12-15 English Standard Version (ESV)

12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
