Daily Prayer for March 1st, 2019

Good Friday morning God—haPpy March! :o)

Thank You that You are merciful to me, a sinner. You have given me the gift of grace through faith in Your son, Jesus. All because of You, He became to me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. My good works will spoil like a soiled garment, but if I put my trust in His, He will carry me Home to Heaven. Glory to You in the highest!! Amen.

Ephesians 2:8-9 English Standard Version (ESV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

1 Corinthians 1:30 English Standard Version (ESV)

Luke 18:9-14 English Standard Version (ESV)

The Pharisee and the Tax Collector

He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.11 The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortionist, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’13 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Isaiah 64:6 English Standard Version (ESV)

We have all become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.
We all fade like a leaf,
and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
