Daily Prayer for February 22nd, 2019

Good Friday morning, God—thank You!! 🙂

What others do is not my concern, but Yours. How can I see the speck in my brother’s eye, when there’s a plank in mine? Holy Spirit, if someone goes astray, let the darkness vanish as I pray. Remove the spiritual blindness from their eyes. Let me be Your light in their lives. After all, Your first greatest command is to love You with all our hearts, and the second one is to love our neighbor as ourselves. All the laws hang on those two commands. How hard is that? Not at all, because Your Spirit dwells within me. In Jesus name. Amen.

Job 19:4 New Living Translation (NLT)

Even if I have sinned,
that is my concern, not yours.

James 4:12 New Living Translation (NLT)

12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?

Matthew 7:1-5 English Standard Version (ESV)

Judging Others

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure, you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Luke 6:37 English Standard Version (ESV)

37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

Ephesians 4:29 English Standard Version (ESV)

29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV)

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

John 3:17 English Standard Version (ESV)

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
