Daily Prayer for December 13th, 2018

Good morning, God—thank You! 🙂

It seems as if societies form of Christmas has no legitimate meaning at all. Christmas is not just about family, friends, gifts, and feasting, but the Savior’s birth, and His divine being. The humble nativity of Your son, Jesus, is really about You, God, being born into the world—into a manger. Help mankind to grasp the fact that You, God Almighty, literally stooped down to become a baby in flesh, and without forsaking Your divine nature or diminishing Your supremacy. Wow! Fully human, You lived as man and experienced the needs and sensibilities that are common to us all; giving up Your divine power, yet still, all-powerful and fully God. So, Christ is not part of creation; He is the Creator, Your very arm, and Christmastime is really about this child in the stable, who was factually the incarnation of You, God. That is amazing to me, thank You! In Jesus’ name, “the firstborn over all creation, ” who made peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Hallelujah!! Amen.

Colossians 1:15-20 New International Version (NIV)

The Supremacy of the Son of God

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead so that in everything he might have the supremacy.19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
