Daily Prayer for October 15th, 2018

Good Monday morning, God—thank You! 🙂

As You well know, someone once said to me in a sarcastic manner, “it’s all about love, isn’t it, Julie?” And I thought, yes blind man, it’s all about love. Love fulfills the law. Holy Spirit. Help me to love You with all my heart and soul, and love my neighbor as myself. Those are Your two greatest commands, and on those two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets. In Jesus name. Amen.

Romans 13:8-10 English Standard Version (ESV)

Fulfilling the Law Through Love

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Matthew 22:36-40 English Standard Version (ESV)

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
